Hello again! Michele organized my 80 year old mother and my trip last summer. We had a great time and I think my mom wants to go back this summer. We were extremely fortunate last year with wonderful weather every day. We loved the Aaran Islands, and the Burren area. Our itinerary was: Ballyvaughan Cashel Kenmare Killarney Dingle The place we liked best was Dualla house in Cashel. Our stay there was truly the highlight of our trip. We loved watching the owner round up his sheep with his dogs. Only wish I didn't delet the first half of our trip's pictures from my camera. We found the larger accommodations (Heatons and Kenmare Lodge) a bit too large and would like to stay with the smaller type places. That might also help save money. We also would like to stay away from the more hectic towns like Killarney or Kenmare. We loved the drive around the Beara P. and loved all the little towns we passed. We enjoyed the Bru Boru show. So, is it possible to do Aran islands again and take in the Connemara area? What about staying on the Aran Islands? Suggested itineraries and/or places to stay? We also found that we prefered the coastal areas. Thank you Caroline
It is lovely to hear that you enjoyed Ireland so much that you are planning another trip with your mother. I agree that Dualla House is something special. Old Ireland at its best. Sorry to hear you lost some photos. I always make multiple back-ups before deleting anything.
Your itinerary will depend on when you are going and how long your trip will be. Of course it is possible to stay on the Aran Islands and do Connemara also. If you want another "special place" to stay consider the Bervie on Achill Island. You can read the review from by book here: http://www.irelandyes.com/excerpt.html
