I'm trying to help my in-laws with their first trip to Ireland. Their trip is a little complicated because they don't want a green blur bus tour but they don't have the endurance to drive for the entire trip. They would like to go for about 3 weeks. They are retired and really want to savor the experience. I have stressed to them to take there time and really soak up each place...they are in total agreement with that.
Anyway, my question is this...If they use certain towns as a base are there day trip buses that are available to take in the sights without driving on your own? Could they visit the following without driving?
From Dublin....Powerscourt, Glendalough From Killarney...Blarney, ROK, Dingle, Cork (Cobh), Kenmare From Kilkenny...Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle, Waterford Crystal
If you know of any options please let me know. If this works, then they could just use the car for traveling the main roads from base to base. Then they would like to use the car to hit places like Mayo and Connemara to meet up with family.
Wow. Thanks so much Michele. Some of those options are absolutely perfect. Now they have to start to formulate an itinerary! They will be so happy to hear of these options.
