One of the things we were thinking about doing on our tour of the north and west is visiting Marble Arch Caves near Enniskillen (Abocurragh Farm looks delightful; thanks, Michele!). But...one of our party is claustrophobic and I wonder if anyone who has been there would think it would a problem for her. She passed on Newgrange last trip but that is certainly not for the claustrophobic at all--I had to steel myself for the push down the tunnel.
I am claustrophobic myself and although I visited Newgrange in my younger slimmer days I don't think I would go down the tunnel now. I get worse as I get older! Even the plane toilets spook me. However, I had no problems with Marble Arch Cave. It is pretty big inside. My only regret was the boats were not going on the underground lake when I visited. Bill has assured me it was no great loss.
Maybe like Melissa5 my new windbreaker will keep it from raining the entire time! We'll definitely check from Abocurragh Farm when we get there. It looks great!
BTW, the coupons arrived yesterday, thank you, and I'm busy sorting and deciding which one we can use. With three people going we'll also have to take a calculator to see just who owes what on discount admissions and twin/single B&B nights. Most all the B&Bs we have tentatively chosen have rooms with three separate beds (we sisters are quite fond of each other but have no desire to sleep in the same bed after doing that MANY years ago). But a couple of times we will probably have a twin and a single.
One sister procrastinated on her airline ticket (well, she had a new granddaughter so we cut her some slack) and when she eventually booked it, it was $65 less than the one for the sister she's traveling the whole way with! So we are annoyed with her, and will make her sleep in the doghouse when one is available. Do you have a listing anywhere to help us with that?
I hope the windbreakers work with the weather! Abocurragh is absolutely lovely. Breakfasts are excellent and Bernie also does dinners.
Are you asking if I have a list of room configurations? The end info of each B&B listing in my book tells that. Also, many B&Bs will provide a roll-away bed if the bedroom is large enough.
