Great website for distances but you will need to divide the mileage by 35 to get a closer driving time. The times indicated are extremely hopeful and don't take in to account road conditions and traffic pitfalls.

Most B&Bs have at least one twin room. You will have to pick the B&Bs the are of the most interest and then email them an inquiry.

Late April/early May is a fantastic time to travel to Ireland, especially if you are looking to travel in the Southwest, as that is the when the foliage is in full bloom. Airfares and lodging rates are also not as high during that time frame.

It is always eye-opening when you can answer your own questions! Each trip is a learning experience. Be sure when using the distance calculator that you get the mileage in miles not kilometers. Then divide by 35 for actual time.

At B&Bs they have many different room configurations. Most B&Bs have rooms with two beds. Either two twins, two doubles or a twin and a double. I don't forsee any problems finding them.

I love Ireland's small towns. I think you will too.

Thank you MIchele and Bit. I did do the conversion to mileage and I thought I would at least add an hour to the times between towns. But can do the division by 35 also.
I think later this year I will order the 2007 book from you Michele. Altho coupons probably won't be ready by the time we go. Unless we pospone to Oct 08.

Shannon to Tipperary ( to see Rock)
Tip thru Charletown to Kenmare
Kenmare (over to Bantry on daytrip etc)
Dingle
Adare
Shannon
Or maybe extend and go up to Galway.
Don't like what I've been reading about construction at the Cliffs.
I already have a beautiful photo that I took when there last time and don't think I want to ruin my memories. Any comment?

The new Cliffs of Moher visitor's center just opened a few weeks ago. There is a forum member (Bill aka Wojazz) who is in Ireland right now. He was planning on stopping by the cliffs and reporting back as to what he saw. I will be there soon too and will post my opinion. Another option is Loop Head. The cliffs are not as high but equally as nice and you will have left all the tour buses behind.

The Coupon Pack is usually ready in February each year. Since they change from year to year, you should not order till 2008. Also, look at the listing to be sure the coupons will be of benefit to you. It all depends on what you are seeing. There are also a few other discount pases/books available for Ireland. When you get closer to your dates we can discuss them, although they are listed on my website.

Adare and Shannon are relatively close to each other. Perhaps choose one over another?

Kenmare is my favorite small town in Ireland. If you can spare a few days to stay there you will not regret it.

Thanks Michele for the info. I was just using Shannon as the airport for distance. I plan on using Kenmare for at least 3 days to go day trips from there. I'm a small town girl, so would rather stay small than in the big city. I enjoyed some of the thrings we saw in Dublin, but to me it was just another "big city". Been there, done that.
Will wait till 2008 to look at coupon books also>

I'm just starting to put things in order, but the southwest will be the region and hopefully it will be in Apr. 08
