Killarney Plaza and Berkeley Court in Dublin +places to eat

We spend most of our time in Killarney when we are in Ireland. We like Mac's Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlour on Main Street. There used to be a tourist office across the street, but I don't know if is still at that location. Also the last time we were there, Mac's was cafeteria style which we liked. (You can see what you are getting) The restaurant is open 10 am to 10 pm during the summer and 10am to 6pm the rest of the year. They advertise prices at 6.50 to 12.50euro per person. There are a ton of other restaurants in Killarney and many pubs too. They are all listed at www.wherekillarney.com.

On the lower end of High Street, on the RH side, near the intersection of College Road, is O'Connors. Directly across the street is O'Riain's and just down from it, is the O'Leary Flesk. I've eaten at all but O'Riain's (but I'm told the food there is quite good) and recommend ALL of them to spend time in.

O'Riain's was just recently restored and remodeled and had just opened the upstairs bar as a music venue when I was there last April. If you get the chance to catch a performance by John Spillane, Nial Connolly or Ciaran Wynne, I can't urge you to do so stronly enough!

If you DO catch Ciaran, please tell him Bob sends his regards. Ask him to play, "A MOTHER'S SONG" -- it will change your life!

Thank you Bob for the great list! I will take a copy of this email with me to watch for the people you mentioned. You really have me intrigued with "A Mother's Song". It sounds like something that would make me cry for weeks... Thank you again!

Thank you for sharing the lyrics Bob, they are very interesting. It's hard to say what I would have thought he was talking about had you not already told me; however, I like your version (of being about Ireland) better than the true story ...

If I catch him while I am there, I will definitely request it to see how it makes me "feel". That is normally how I decide if I like a song. I love Celtic music and have had some kind of various artist CD in my car for years. Some of my friends have always thought I was a little nutty because I wanted to listen to "that" kind of music ... what do they know????
