Hello, we have one day left in Dublin on our return trip before we leave. So for a whole day where would be a good place to drive to north of Dublin we like castles, scenic views, walking, boating, etc. etc. Thanks. Rosie.

A few sites come to mind:

Trim, Newgrange, Knowth, Dowth, Hill of Slane, Kells and the Bru na Boine are all close together and are significant for their history and scenic beauty. Malahide has a castle (as does Trim).

Or, you COULD spend the day in Dublin ... LOTS more to see beyond the Book of Kells and Templebar.

Malahide Castle & Fry Model Railway
Ardgillan Castle & Park
Newbridge House & Farm
Skerries Mills
Howth Castle (castle not open to public but walks and gardens are)
