renting golf clubs while in Ireland

It is now less than two weeks until our family trip to Ireland and we are all getting very excited.  Some of the boys want to play golf while in Galway, Sligo or Limerick. All are stops on our itinerary,  Are they able to rent clubs while in Ireland from the courses they want to play at?  Any recommendations for club rental and for courses appropriate for 20 year old intermediate golfers would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Many of the golf courses in Ireland will have club rentals. However, they are not the best clubs around. I met a guy in Killarney who had been golfing and he said the rental clubs were "snake killers". Not that there are any snakes in Ireland, just that the clubs were no good for anything but killing snakes!

I am not a golfer myself, so take a look at this website and make a decision after a bit of research: http://www.gui.ie/

Hi Michele,

Thanks for the guidance and the website to visit. I am not a golfer either, so I think I will leave it to the boys to follow up on and decide if golfing will be part of our trip.
