Returned Saturday night from our month in Ireland and 4 days in London. Still suffering from jet lag! We were on the tarmac at London-Heathrow for an hour +, then a long 8 hours to Seattle. Fortunately, we splurged on World Traveller Plus on British Air, so had comfortable seats. Would never do economy again, even if I had to hock my little red Mazda! 9 hours over and 8 back is a long tme to be cramped.
Weather was wonderful, one day of rain in the Connemara, but saw some fantastic waterfalls because of it! I had to cut back some of our itinerary, because my dear husband, Ed ( My designated driver!) had a fall the day before we left, so driving was a hardship at times. But my head and mind are still full of wonderful places- ancient monastic sites, abbeys, castles, mountains, peat bogs, loughs, etc.
I plan on writing two reports, one about the trip itself, and the other, critiques of our accommodations. Should be getting that done by the weekend.
Wonderful meeting up with Marie, Kasey, Keely and aprilmay- April and Jeff.
Thanks to all who contributed to a fantastic journey.
Welcome back. Can't wait to read your reports. When you said it was only 8 hours from Seattle to London, you got me real excited about going to Europe again. From Atlanta to Shannon was 7 and half hours, for some reason I was adding the 5 hours from Atlanta to Seattle on and that would have made it about a 12 hour flight. I use to do longer flights to Greece but not now.
Anyway I hope all of us in this area can get together some time.
Welcome home! Thanks for checking in from time to time while you were in Ireland. How is Ed doing? I hope the fall was not a bad one. Let us know as we are concerned.
I can't wait to read your trip report and I'm sure everyone else is anxious too. But please take your time and get over that jet-lag. I know that the first few days home can be disorienting. And all that unpacking and laundry! Plus you have to return to reality.
