Just wanted to try and save others from grief before it is too late. DO NOT FLY WITH GLOBESPAN. They ruined the beginning and the end of what was to be our dream vacation with VERY long delays, both coming and going, about 24 hours total. They are deceptive and they lie and use every excuse to extend the delays. About 100 people had to spend the first night of their vacation on the cold floor of the JFK airport. An 8:00 PM departure turned into the departure of 2:30 PM the next day after multiple promises and excuses. I think you get the point, avoid GLOBESPAN at all costs. I could go on and on with the details.
I will do a post later of the good parts of our trip in the Beautiful country.(after I've caught up on missed sleep because of airlines). Sorry if I sound a little negative, I'll get over it.
Welcome home! Sorry to hear about your bad experiences with Globespan and thanks for the warning. Was it a mechanical problem? I hope the rest of your trip went well. We will wait for your jet-lag to wear off and look forward to hearing about how you enjoyed Ireland.
Actually most of their delays are due to there contract clause:
We reserve the right to amend, introduce stops, cancel or consolidate flights as necessary to achieve the high load factors required to maintain profitability whilst offering low fares. Whilst we will try to avoid making changes, we will of course notify you of any material change where it is practical to do so. In this instance we will contact you via your registered email address if the booking was made on the website. Only if the booking was made through our reservation office will you be notified by post. Therefore it is important to inform us of any changes to these details. Changes made at the last minute for industrial action; operational reasons etc; will only be posted on our website.
That is interesting. Thanks for posting the info. It basically allows them to do what they want when they want, without much accountability to the passenger. I guess the consumer must weigh low cost against service to see what is more important to them.
