B & B'S AROUND IRELAND COAST

This is my "review" of B and B's we stayed in around the coast of Ireland !
This was my first trip to Ireland but I pray not my last !

Waterloo House- www.waterloohouse.ie
We stayed here 3 nights, first night and the last 2. The first room we had was a KING facing the backyard- very comfortable, nice bathroom, quiet off the street but within walking distance- well a good walk from Grafton Street and Trinity etc. The room was very clean! We were warmly welcomed and the car rental was also within walking distance. The breakfast was wonderful, choice of fresh juices, cereals, fresh breads, smoked salmon or choices of pancakes etc. We would definitely stay here again. The second night we had a double room which was very large, tv in all rooms, and again quiet. Off street parking which is good if you have a rental car. Bus is just down the street. The last night we were there we had a KING bed, fireplace room, and the room faced the front. The last night was the most expensive and when we told our host we could stay in the double room we had the night before she said no that that was for someone else.  Definitely a good place for us to stay, average $187.00 American dollars.  Bit pricey but we wanted to stay somewhere we felt safe.

Overall we probably spent more on lodging than some people might or than we may on another trip, but this was a special trip, first time for us out of the USA and we were celebrating a milestone birthday, and our anniversary so... !

LAWCUS FARM GUESTHOUSE - www.lawcusfarmguesthouse.com
This is a gem !! I THANK "bit devine" for suggesting and recommending it !!
We should have gotten there earlier but I did not take the time to get the directions right so we got lost in the beautiful countryside trying to find it. It was our second full day in Ireland and it was staying light until after 9pm so then we realized all of the restaurants were closed in the area but that's really a side story...

The guesthouse is very warm and wonderful !! Old stone stucture that has been completely refurbished. The grounds stretch all the way to the Kings River. The breakfast room is very open and Mark cooks well and is a pleasure. He took the time to show us his property and meet the horses,, just beautiful, we were very comfortable. Bathroom was quite small but we had a split level room with a kitchen !

more to come... april smile

Great so far, April. One request, please tell us what city/town/village these places are in?

RE: B & B'S AROUND IRELAND COAST

April,

I am so gald you enjoyed Lawcus Farm. Isn't Mark just delightful? I love the antiquity of the place.

Dude, to answer your question, Lawcus Farm is just outside of Kilkenny.

Looking forward to the rest of your report, April!

Slan Beo,

Bit

Hi April!

I can hardly wait for your review of our favorite--The Shores Country House!  Don't you wish all the BandBs were like that?  Annette is such a friendly and enchanting person, She was so excited about your bringing a gift for her son, was that the one at the house, or the one at college?  I seem to remember one was Colm.

Keep the reviews coming, there is always a "Next Time" for Ireland!

Helen
