For those who are travelling this summer....I read that it has been a cooler and wetter summer than normal. Have you found this to be true? Is there any good websites for tracking the weather forecast? We leave in about a month and am trying to determine what we need to pack. I know there can be the errant warm spell, but that doesnt seem to be the case this year..I guess it will be predominately jeans, tshirts and hoodies! We are going Dublin to No. Ireland/Antrim to Galway and ending in Limerick/Shannon.
Just go to my "Weather" page. You can moniter everything from there. Friends from Ireland have told me it has been wet and cool for the past 6 weeks or so.
I'm just wringing out my clothes from a very wet visit to Newgrange/Bru na Boinne today, and I can vouch for the cooler and wetter weather in Ireland this summer (well, cooler and wetter than the last few summers anyway). The first week in June was brilliant, but there has been rain in most parts of Ireland ever since.
As for packing, one thing is for sure...the weather could change at any moment, so don't get the impression that the rain is here to stay or that the sun will come out tomorrow. Bring your rain gear and your sunglasses.
I've got a few photos from the sunny days posted at www.irishfireside.com (weeks 1 & 2)...I tend to take a lot less photos in rain.
