Irish Music Session Clip

Hello Everybody,

I've haven't been able to spend as much time around the board as in the past, but I wanted to drop a note to say hi and to welcome some of the new members who have been appearing lately.

Also thought you all might enjoy a video clip I posted on our website. It was taken this summer at a session where a few of the songs were sung in Irish...which is nice to hear. I plan on adding more clips, but for now you can enjoy this one.

Corey,

I don't know if it is my computer or what but I am having trouble viewing your clip and your podcasts. The page gets hung up and keeps saying (on the bottom) one item remaining. But it never comes up. I will try again tomorrow as I am looking forward to it.

Hopefully it's just a temporary glitch. I noticed the pages have been loading quite slowly the last few days...maybe the media file download is just being sluggish.

Are you able to read the show notes which include the lyrics to the song?

The other thought is that you might not have the most recent version of QuickTime (or whatever media player necessary), but it should give you an alert if that is the case.

In the meantime, you can also see it on YouTube...unfortunately, the show notes aren't part of that.

I couldn't open the other one but the last one was good. Thanks, Joan

Hopefully, I can figure out why some can view the clips on our website and some cannot. In the meantime, here's another clip from this summer...

BTW - I'll be back in Ireland on Oct 1...who knows what kind of podcast material I'll pick up this trip.

Corey,

Fabulous clips! Thank you for sharing them here. Liam sang well for being caught off guard. biggrin Was that Tony on the fiddle?

Have you room in your suitcase for me in October? How long will you be over for on that trip? It is cooling down, I am very tempted to have you pick me up some Curly Wurly's and Jacob's Elite teacakes and mail them to me, as they are less likely to melt.

Slan Agus Barrogs,

Bit

Bit - I set aside some Jacob's Elite for you...but temptation took over and I ate them before I could send them. Can you blame me?

That was Tony on fiddle.

Michele - I'll be there three weeks.

I think I have the media files working on our website...however, the YouTube links...although a bit lower resolution...get the job done.

Bit, I can believe that Corey got the munchies and ate all your Jacob's Elite. They wouldn't last long around my house either.  biggrin

Corey, Three weeks sounds great. Buy more food for Bit! She may start knocking on your door and demand Trinity Eggs instead. They looked really good on your site. I must try them.

I still can't get the first link to work on your website but have looked at on YouTube. There are always ways to work around different situations. Hey, was that me in a purple wig in your latest newsletter? wink

You ate ALL the Jacob's elite teacakes?weirdfaceHarruuummmppph!!! biggrin I guess it was sort of like asking the fox to guard the henhouse now wasn't it?

I was so excited when one of my local food stores announced that they would be stocking Dubliner Red Cheddar. I went to get some on the day that hey said it was coming out and found instead a notice saying that it had yet to meet dairy approval for the US. cry So, whilst there, I lobbied for them to stock dairy gold butter, Jocob's elite teacakes, Cadbury Curly Wurlys and Barry's tea. The manager was sweet but asked just how long I had been in the states. biggrin

Trinity Eggs? I must have missed that. I will have to go back and investigate.

Slan Agus Barrogs,

Bit

Bit,

That's odd. My local Publlix grocery store has cheese and butter from Ireland. They even have Bantry Bay mussels in the frozen seafood department. My husband gobbled them up just like Corey with the tea cakes.

I am just about out of Tesco lemon bath soap bars. I must put them on my list for the next trip.

The Trinity eggs were on an episode of the Blog.

I'll try to control my appetite this trip and bring some goodies back, but you can't blame me for eating them up.

I really like the Trinity Eggs. They're pretty easy to make...except I whisk the eggs by hand which can be quite a workout early in the morning. The link is the July 24, 2007, TravelBlog entry at www.IrishFireside.com.

Bit - I don't think you were asking your grocer for too much to stock a few of your favorite items :)

As an amateur bodhran player, it sounds to me like you're experiencing some technical difficulties with media file downloads and loading speed on your website.
