Hi, Like a previous poster, we are looking to go to Ireland over Spring Break (March 15-24). This will be our first trip to Ireland and we want "to do it right"!
I am sure that things will be shut down on Easter day. Will they be closed on Good Friday, Holy Saturday? Is it a bad idea to go over this holiday week?
Welcome to my forum! I hope you will find it a fun and informative place to plan your trip to Ireland. I'm glad to hear that you want to do it right. Everyone will be happy to help with any questions you might have.
Actually, sightseeing attractions, restaurants, pubs, etc. will be open around Easter on Sat and Sun. Banks, offices, and things like that will be closed. You will want to have restaurant reservations on Easter Sunday because many families have get-togethers and go out. The only problem day is Good Friday. Depending on where you are in Ireland on that day you will find most things closed - even pubs and restaurants. So that is the only day you must plan around. It would be a good day for a scenic drive. Hotel restaurants are open on GF.
