I live down the Irish countryside in County Waterford. So, when I have to travel long term out of Dublin airport, the expense of the long term parking has been driving me crazy.
I found a lovely country house close to the airport - comfortably luxurious but very, very reasonable - that offers free long term parking. It saves me a bundle. They're Broadmeadow Country House and their website is http://www.irishcountryhouse.com
I stay one night and after that all the parking is free. They drive me to the airport, even at the crack of dawn, on open back roads. It takes about 10 minutes to reach the airport.
This is one place I can recommend highly for fellow dublin airport parking sufferers. They raised the price of long term parking in 2006 and again in 2007 and leaving the car for two weeks while I visit the states can cost nearly as much as a plane ticket!
Thanks for the personal recommendation. Most of the travelers here are visiting Ireland from abroad and would not be much interested in the parking aspect of the guesthouse. However, I have had my eye on Broadmeadow for some time and will be checking it out this year to see if it will suit my readers and clients.
