what type of car

Hi Folks,
Looking at 4 types of cars over the kemwel website.
I'm a tall 6foot 2 inch guy, so which car (automatic) would be okay for me.?
1- toyota corolla  2 door  listed as compact
2- ford focus   2 door  listed as compact
3- toyota avensis  listed as midsize  (never heard of this model)
4- volkswagon passat  4 door listed as standard size.

I'm asking this because last time I tried to get into a nissan something, where
it did not have a tilt steering wheel function.  Mary said you don't look to comfortable in that.  We instead got into a BMW.  Now that was nice.
thanks for any feed back.

Gary:

I can give you this personal opinion.

When we were in Ireland last March, I rented a Ford Focus RS from Dan Dooley cars. Was skeptical when I spoke to their agent, as we had four males on the trip, and for some reason I thought small when I thought Ford Focus. They assured me the two-door hatchback had alot of room, while still allowing you to drive a smaller size vehicle over there (with petrol prices and the size of the roads in the Emerald Isle, that is important).

Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Focus_%28International%29. That is pretty close to what our car looked like. To make a long story short, we loved the car. Gave us all plenty of room, and the hatch opening in the back gave us easy route to get luggage in and out, and also whoever was in the back seat could grab something from back there while sitting in the car. I will rent that model again.

good feedback sid.  My buddy and I just looked at Toyota/europe website for the Avensis.  Wow, what a sharp/sporty looking hatchback.  the interior also looked great.  My buddy commented how come they don't have that style here in the states.  Just not sure if my knees will bump the dashboard.
I assume the focus had no knee bump into dashboard issues.
thx again.

Had no problems with it -- I'm just a bit over 6-0. Was good vehicle for the money, and more room than I was figuring on. I'll have to take a look at the car you mentioned. Haven't seen that one, but it sounds nice.

Gary,

My husband is around your height. He has actually never had a problem in a Ford Fiesta but I don't know if they are available in automatics. The VW Passat would be his choice for lots of leg room.

Gary, we rented an Opel Astra 4 door automatic. It was perfect for the three of us plus seven pieces of luggage and a cooler. It would seat four comfortably, the boot was large by Irish standards---I would still have trouble fitting luggage for four in it, however. WC
