Ennis Music Festival

Hello Michelle I'm back!
I had been planning a trip for '07 but when I realized my significant other wasn't as "in to it" as I - I left it alone for a while.  Well, I'm back to planning now although the new date is May of '09.
I read on one of my web-travels that there was a music festival in Ennis towards the end of May.  I'm wondering if anyone has ever attended that festival and if they considered it a good expenditure of time.  I also see Ennis has a traditional music festival in November.  If the May festival is more modern than traditional, I wouldn't be so likely to plan a day or two around it.
Anyone out there with some personal experience? ~Kelly

Kelly,

I'm glad to hear your trip to Ireland is back on track. Take a look at the website of Fleadh Nua and you will see that most of the program in 2007 was trad: http://www.fleadhnua.com/

They do not yet have the 2008 schedule online but you could contact them to ask about it. Everyone I know that have attended have enjoyed it.

Michele

There are several Comhaltas-sanctioned festivals such as Fleadh Nua that are well-worth checking out...they vary in size and scope, but all have loads of great trad music. You can take a look at the shedule below...

Excellent site Corey. I'll keep it bookmarked for next year's planning.
