Logistics of trip

Hi All, I haven't posted in some time since we haven't had the chance to go back in a while, although I have "lurked" periodically.

We are planning 9 nights in April for our 6th trip.  I would like to spend a few nights in the Kerry area, but would also like to make it up to Galway for a couple of nights.  Is there any sensible way to do this?  It seems like a lot of backtracking. Our last night will be in the Ennis or Bunratty area, but otherwise, since nothing is booked yet, we are wide open for suggestions.

Instead of B&Bs everywhere, we are looking at the Kenmare Bay Hotel, which has great midweek rates.  Has anyone stayed here recently?

Thanks for any input!
Allison

Alison,

I assume you are arriving in Shannon? You could make a couple of loops and do Galway and Kerry. You don't necessarily have to take the same routes back and forth.

I was in Kenmare last year and there was a tremendous amount of construction at the Kenmare Bay Hotel. Send them an email to find out if it is still going on. If it is you might want to consider something else.

Thanks Michele, I just sent an email to the hotel.  I have several B&Bs in the area to contact, just in case.  (And yes, in and out of Shannon for this trip.)

We were in the Kerry area about 2 and a half years ago.  I guess it isn't too soon to go back!

Alison,

There are some very nice B&Bs in Kenmare. My favorite place is Sallyport House. It is never too soon to return to Kerry.
