I want to let you know that Anchoress (a forum member living in Ireland) will have a book coming out soon. Tales from an Irish Hermitage sounds like an interesting read.
I will update with the website and ordering info soon.
We haven't heard from you lately but I'm sure you have been busy over the holidays with your family. I hope all is well with you. Now that the new year is here everyone is starting their trip planning again. We always enjoy your input greatly.
I will be sure to let everyone know about the book. Perhaps Anchoress will post when it is ready.
Michele; for this kindness, thank you. We are stormbound here and this internet connection is patchy...
We will have the proof copy by Monday and as soon as that has been approved, it is waggons roll... We will put ordering details here of course then. It will be on Amazon and also available direct from the publishers, which will make more profit for us than by Amazon, and directly from me also.
Here and at the Mother House in Canada we will have the book in stock always now.
We are using a self-publishing, print-on-demand firm which needs very little money up front. As we have no money this is ideal for us.
Glad to hear you are still dreaming about Ireland. Hearing about other people who have just returned or helping those in the planning stages seems to get us through to our next trips! I guess we could be considered Ireland addicts. No intervention necessary. Just another trip to Ireland.
Anchoress,
Let us know where to order the book that will give you the most money from it for your charity.
We are still working out shipping costs from here. It is complicated because we are working across continents.
But certainly if you want a few copies, it will be better to send to us direct. Dude knows that, and we are working on her order already. We will have copies here early next week.
Blessings this day. Ireland is bitterly cold and windy still..
Anchoress, I get an error message when I try clicking on the xanga.com address.
If possible (and if it's not violating forum policy), could you please let us know how to order from you directly? I agree with Dude, if more of the profits can go to your work, that's the best way to go!
Anchoress is probably sleeping (that time change always throws me off) so I will jump in. I too got the error message when I clicked on the address above, but when I typed http://xanga.com/anchoressnun into the url bar it opened right up. Maybe the www is confusing it!
I suggested that Sister's next project should be a daybook with short devotionals and simple pictures. We'll see if she follows my advice!
Sister gets up about 5 a.m. to walk the dogs so she retires early!
Glad to hear things are moving along. It is exciting to add new things (especially a book!) to the list of things you sell for charity. I wish you good luck with it.
If I weren't a church secretary and not supposed to gamble, I would bet that I'm the first on the list to have received and read "Tales from an Irish Hermitage." Wonderful, wonderful little book and appropriate for everyone on your shopping list. (I already have a copy, so if you want to get me something, one of Liam's jewelry pieces would be nice...). You may read a couple of reviews at Amazon.com but please order directly from Anchoress to put even more euro pennies in the coffers.
The stories will make you smile. And where else can you bring joy to yourself and to some children you will never meet but who need your help desperately?
I'm going to order the book after I am done with a whole lot of work and can slack off a bit to enjoy a read. Thanks for letting everyone know yours has arrived.
