Kinsale versus Cobh?

Hi all:
In working out my itinerary for my two week Irish jaunt this coming September, I'm trying to decide on a base for the County Cork portion of the trip. I've decided to either spend two nights in Cobh or two nights in Kinsale. I can't decide which, though. Whichever town I don't stay in, I'll certainly make a day trip to. We're spending the first two nights of our trip in Kilkenny, then on to Cork (either Kinsale or Cobh), and then on to Kenmare for two nights. Suggestions? Preferences on Kinsale versus Cobh? I think I'm leaning toward Kinsale right now, but I'd love some input!

Whislt both have their own draw, being a foodie, a would choose Kinsale.  Whatever your culinary delight, you will find it there. It is also an excellent stopping place for exploring the Beara Peninsula. I do love Cobh with her maritime history. I would definitely recommend that you spend some time visiting there, as well.

jsa,

Kinsale has an edge over Cobh simply because it has more of everything -- restaurants, lodgings, etc. However, check your calendar. If you will be there on a weekend opt for Cobh. Kinsale is overrun with people on weekends. It is traffic gridlock and people gridlock.
