VAT is the same in the UK and No. Ireland as in Ireland. They all belong to the EU even though GB does not use the euro. Before making purchases in No. Ireland ask if they participate in the refund scheme. They may need your passport for the form.

All VAT forms are turned in at your departure from Europe airport. I always make copies of mine before hand.
