Be Kind!

 wink Hello to ALL the Helpful folks on this site, especially Michele for starting it all, and Bit who is an Irish Pixie I'm sure !

 confused Now for my ?, and please, I'm just asking, don't want to start another war!

After all, I'm PROUD to be an biggrinO'Connor and my heart is IRISH, but, my wife asks:

   idea  Because of the cost of air and to maximize time say up to 3 weeks;

* Would it be wise to fly to London first and do some B&B(7-10 days) in England? Perhaps an air & London package, then B&B's? Has anybody done this? Told air is cheaper to fly into London than say Dublin or Shannon?? weirdface

AND, is there something similar to Irelandyes for England that would help?
OK, we think that this would cost TOO much on our stingy  bleh budget, but we though we'd explore ALL options before we get Michele' book and start planning.
Anybody do this, have ideas?

* Could we then fly(Ryan air) or ferry to Ireland to start trip in Dublin and end in Shannon? Thinking 10 days in May, would like to end trip by attending some of the Fleadh Nua in Ennis which is Phoenix's sister city. Heard it's worthwhile. Opinions please??

LOVE THIS WEBSITE !!!!!!!!!!!!

Jan & Jack,

So glad you are enjoying the forum. We will try to be gentle with you.

You are correct that flying into London can often cost less than flying directly to Ireland. So you are not off-base to suggest visiting the UK and Ireland on your trip. If you have three weeks you could split the time. But plan carefully as you cannot see everything in both countries no way, no how.

You could certainly fly or ferry from the UK to Ireland. Start checking on fares, schedules and flights to see how they are comparing. Many times flights cost less.

I don't know of a comparable forum for the UK but others have suggested Fodors, Frommers, TripAdvisor, etc. Do a search and you will come up with some.

Michele
