Almost ready to go! Thanks to all!

Well, after 4 years of planning, we are almost ready to get on the plane, Sept.3. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! On the advice of the members here, we revised our plans. We are now landing in Shannon, driving to Galway for 3 days, then back to the southern coast, where we will have two self-catering homes. We plan to visit several of the coastal towns, Cashel, Kenmare, etc., and just mainly do day trips. We love the beach and the castles, and ruins, so I think this will be a perfect trip for us! Thank you to each and every one of you who have replied to us through the years. Thank you, Michele for your wonderful book!
We will do a trip report when we get back!

Janie,

Just think, your four years are about to pay off. I hope you have excellent weather and that your self-catering places are superb. Everyone here is always happy to help and share their own experiences. Glad you liked my book. Don't forget to take it with you!

Looking forward to your report in late September.

Michele

Hi Janie, smile.gif

Congratulations to you for your 4 year patience in planning! We've THOUGHT about it for years, went elsewhere and NOW want to go in May. Maybe not, with prices so high, Euro at 1.67 now ? Airfare seems to be the BIGGEST cost factor. Can you give us any help/info on that? If not too intrusive, can you say how much you paid, which airline, and what tips to get best airfare? Did you decide to go Sept. because of fare deal only? Understand completely if you don't want to share personal info on costs. ANY tips you share from your 4 years of researching would be helpful!

DO have the FABULOUS trip you deserve,

irishjack,

The dollar has strengthened in the past week. Go to my Money  page and click on "Convert Currency".

Keep watching airfares because during the winter there are usually sales. Prices have gone way up because of fuel charges. Maybe that will stabilize before your trip too.

Be patient and keep an eye on things.

Michele
