Wow. I just got this email and now my head is spinning with possibilities. My wife and I are teachers and could do a trip in either April or February. April would be preferable, but Michele could you describe the conditions for Ireland in February? We would be spending our time stretched between Dingle, Connemara and Donegal.

What's an average temp?
Sun up/Sun down?
Attractions running regularly?
Boat tours to Aran/Skellig running?

Killer deal, if you can take advantage of it, that's terrific! I may have to readjust mythinking for a May trip and bump it back a few weeks.

Of the two months, April would be best for the things you are outlining. Depending on the weather, most attractions begin opening in mid-April.

Michele has the weather & seasonal information her on her site. As you know though. there is no constant in Irish weather except to expect the unexpected. biggrin

The Ferries run from Rossaveal to Inis Mor on a limited schedule in the months leading up to May. I am not sure that the Skellig Tours operate outside of the summer season. Even in summer, they are subject to weather & sea conditions.

Tx. I found the temp/sunrise info on the site and I looked up an almanac online too. I know what you mean about expect the unexpected. On our honeymoon it was the hottest weather they had seen in Dublin since 1911 and was 100 degrees F....they did not like it :)

Our last trip was a tour all around Ireland and it was fantastic. But, now we have 2 things on the agenda: Relax and hang out with the people. We're probably just gonna spend a while in each area doing very little. I hope it works out.

When we were there in 2007, They were having a heat wave, as well. Coming from Arizona, we didn't think it hot at all.

Nowadays there are fees, fees and FEES! Just like with the car rentals you must add everything up for a grand total.

I'm glad to hear that you are going to Ireland again. Be careful, it will get into your blood! I must agree that April would be much better than Feb. Also, not everything is open in Feb. Go for April if you can.
