I am taking a trip to Ireland Nov. 7 arriving in Dublin 5:15am on the 8th having a rental car and leaving from Shannon at 1:45pm on the 12th. We have B&B vouchers for 4 nights but have to plan our itinerary before I reserve the rooms. I know we want to spend a day in Dublin and at least a day in Galway, I also want to see cliffs of Moher and if possible cork and kilkenny. But I'm sure not all of that is possible giving the slow driving and early nightfall. I was hoping you could give me a good idea for an itinerary and which cities/towns I should try to book my B&B's in.
Or should I stay 1 night in Dublin and 2 & 3rd in Galway and last night somewhere close to Shannon?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated because I am running out of time to book my B&B's!
Welcome to my forum. The itinerary you outlined will work for your short trip to Ireland. Good idea to skip Cork and Kilkenny because you just won't have time. Save them for another trip.
I suggest Bunratty for being close to Shannon.
Take a look at my Lodgings page for suggestions on where to stay. Good luck booking your B&Bs.
Glad you wrote in and should get some good ideas. Near the Cliffs, we stayed at Sheila Conneely (sheilaconneely@kinvara.com) B&B -- http://kinvara.com/ click on Accommodations -- and check under B&B's or send her an email. South of the Shannon airport in Adare is a very nice B&B also: www.adarecountryhouse.com. This is in the Burren: http://www.doonbeg-ireland.com/clare/burrenholidayhome/index.html. Also, near Clifton in the Connemara Region is: www.buttermilklodge.com. All of these places are very nice and the owners are really neat. Accommadations are very cozy. Good luck and enjoy your trip!
