Has anyone reupped with Ireland of the Welcomes since they changed hands? The Website has not been updated in months, so I'm kind of reluctant to try and send any electronic subscription funds their way. I wanted to also see what the issue looked liked now, but the free issue link on the site also takes you nowhere.
Any feedback would be appreciated. I just wondered if they have their act together now or not. I used to get the magazine, and wanted to start it up again, but their online presentation is puzzling.
I recently renewed my subscription via mail and check. How old-fashioned. I wasn't aware that their website is not operating.
The magazine is pretty much the same. There are more ads (I expected that). They seem to be featuring people more and putting their photos on the front cover. The last two I can think of are Maeve Binchy and Gabriel Byrne. They still have Byways, Letters, Book Reviews, etc. So far, so good.
I agree, the publication is still of a high standard. They tend to be adding more "timely" items...whereas, I used to think of IOTW as focusing on more "timeless" articles.
Their website has been at a standstill since the announcement to sell was made. I think they would better serve customers if they simply put a "coming soon" sign up because as it stands, it is confusing and sends the message that they are not open for business.
As far as content goes, Ireland of the Welcomes is still strong, but it is slightly different.
Thanks for the information. It's kind of surprising to me that they feel they can progress without an online route to their product. I do appreciate the responses.
