Spring Break in Ieland

Hi, just found this forum!  Hope you can help.
My 3 college-age kids and I are going to be visiting Ireland in March.  We are flying into Dublin on March 14.  We would like to be in Galway for St. Patrick's Day.  I am not going to rent a car so am wondering what is the best way to get from the airport to Galway, train or bus?  My 2 boys want to golf 1-2 times if possible. We are backpackers so they would need to rent clubs. Any suggestions on courses that are less expensive and rent clubs? My daughter and I would like to tour a linen mill/factory, any suggestions.  Thanks.

Sophiejo,

Welcome to my forum! So glad you found your way here. Since you will be in Ireland over St. Patrick's Day it is important to book your rooms soon.

Are you spending time in Dublin first? You can take the train or bus to Galway. There are some buses that depart from the airport and others from central Dublin. The following links will be helpful:

I know of no linen mills that provide tours in the Republic of Ireland. For that you would have to travel to Northern Ireland.

For golf courses: http://www.gui.ie/welcome.asp I also suggest stopping by the tourist office in Galway for brochures and coupons that may be available for golfing in the area.
