Tourism Ireland Rates IrelandYes #2 Top Ireland-Related Forum

Hi Everyone,

I was doing some surfing on the Internet and found that Tourism Ireland rates this forum as the number two top Ireland-related forum on the Internet. (Go to page 3 of the pdf toward the bottom right.) Number one is finditireland.com

I must say that I was very surprised by the forum's popularity. I had no idea.

Thank you all for making this forum #2!   biggrin  biggrin biggrin  biggrin

CONGRATULATIONS, Michele!!!

This IS an excellent forum. I give it to everyone I talk to that says they are thinking about, or going to Ireland.   All my trips are planned by using suggestions that people have put on this site THANKS!   biggrin     youngka   Really enjoy your book, also...

Congrats Michele. When I stumbled upon this place 3 years ago it was a gold mine. I was trying to plan a trip and had no idea what I was doing. I found everything I needed here to create an awesome visit to Ireland. You are very generous with your time and experience.

Well-deserved congratulations, Michele!  Friends and family ask me questions about our up-coming trip regarding how I decided this or that -- the answer is always the same:  I based my decision on Michele's forum and book.  You're an Irish treasure biggrin.

Maith thú, mo chara!

I am not surprised to find you in the upper echelon. You have worked long and hard to create this amazing site.

I am honored to be a part of such a wonder.

Thanks everyone!

I just had time to look at the Find It Ireland forum. I am puzzled. There is hardly any activity there. Mostly it has one post for each subject. These are its statistics:

Total posts 1763 • Total topics 995 • Total members 805

These are the statistics for my forum: Registered Members: 1,098 Topics: 2,433 Total Posts: 14,747

I guess computer programs make the decision as to which forum is best. Makes you wonder if Tourism Ireland got its money's worth on its research.

Congratulations Michele. I think it's great they recognized it. However, I'd say the Goldilocks Award is even more prestigious :) (http://ireland.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=65127&p=3&topicID=9227969).

Michele, I too checked out the competition and like you I can't see what possessed anyone to pick them over you.

We all know who's really #1, don't we?

Several years ago I received as a gift a subscription to Ireland of the Welcomes and Michele's Best Little Guide was listed among recommended books so I ordered one and the rest is history. That first book was misappropriated by someone some time back but I have since bought two more and they will not leave my side.

Wow. I wonder if I have posted about half of that 14,747.

Corey,

The Goldilocks Award is near and dear to my heart.   After all it is from my readers and forum members, not a piece of computer software!

Dude,

After looking at the #1 forum I am not about to get a swelled head. If the research company chose that one who's to say mine is all that great either? hmm

Plus I didn't notice Tourism Ireland partnering with me like they did with Lonely Planet. These things come and go.

With 498 posts you are getting up there! Senior Member indeed.

Michele

Christy,

How are your plans for Ireland coming along? Thanks a bunch. I really appreciate your recommendations. Word of mouth is the best way to get the word out. Thanks!

They're coming - slowly!  A few things in my personal life have to happen, and when they do, I'll have some decisions to make.  I hate waiting. :(

Christy,

I hope everything works out for you. I know how life can sometimes throw a monkey wrench into the plans we have. It happens to us all. Be patient.
