RE: Southern Ireland trip in May/June 2009!!!!!!!

Erin,

We spent 5 nights in Kenmare last September and found that there was plenty to do. It's a good central starting point for lots of places. We explored the Ring of Kerry, the Beara Peninsula, Killarney National Park, Ross Castle, Muckross House and gardens, saw lots of magnificent scenery, fascinating ruins and historical sites, and heard great music. We covered a lot of miles, but it's a personal choice-we wanted to see as much as possible. You may choose to concentrate on just a couple of places to explore thoroughly.

Regards, Meredith

Erin,

I must agree with Meredith and Bit about Kenmare. I stayed there for a week last year and it was too short. Let the weather be your guide. If it is going to be nice get an early start from Kenmare and meet the boat. If not you will have plenty to do from Kenmare.

Bit, Meredith and Michele,

You are all right - what was I thinking?? We'll keep the 3 nights in Kenmare. Any lodging suggestions? Kenmare and Kinsale are the last two I need to find. For some reason, I just can't find one that is in our budget that appeals to me.

Happy Easter,
Erin

Thanks Michele,

My husband will love the location of the Driftwood right by the golf course. I sent an enquiry today.

Michele,

Driftwood had no vacancy, so it looks like we will be staying a Willow Lodge. That Gretta seems like quite a character!giggle.gif

Thanks for your help.

Erin,

Gretta and her husband Paul are both characters. It should be fun.
