Easter Sunday in Ireland

Hi,

We are leaving on Good Friday for our 2nd trip to Ireland.  On Easter Sunday we will be exploring Achill Island and just relaxing at our B&B in Westport.  Should we expect any complications due to the holiday?  Will restaurants/pubs be open for meals?  Will any banks be open over the weekend?  I wouldn't think anything on Achill would be effected cuz we're just checking out the landscape/views.

Basically, should I be worried?
Shawn

Shawn,

You are almost at departure. Have you packed your bags yet? On Easter restaurants and pubs will be open. It is a big day for Irish families to go out for Sunday lunch. I would suggest either lunch reservations or pack a lunch to take with you. Ask your hosts about dinner reservations at your restaurant of choice. They will be able to tell you if you need them.

A wonderful place to eat on Achill Island is Achill Cliff House Hotel. But you would most likely need reservations. They usually have homemade banoffee.
