2-3 day travel from Dublin to Kerry

Hi,

I would like to cover the following places from Dublin

1) Rings of Kerry
2) Dingle Peninsula,
3) Blarney Stone Castle
4) Cork
5) Rock of Cashel

It is possible to cover these places over the weekend or do we need 3 days. I would be grateful if anyone could provide any help  on this. I am mostly planning to drive down to these places, so if anybody is interested to join me over Aug 1st,2nd and 3rd Please let me know.

Thanks in Advance
Cheers
Spaleo

Spaleo,

Welcome to my forum. If you have three full days, seeing all that would mean a trememdous amount of driving. You will be in the car most of those three days. I assume you then have another day to drive back to Dublin? Or are you departing from another city?

Thanks for the reply Michele. I will be departing from dublin. I want to go mainly to to Dingle Penninsula and Rings of Kerry. Is that a feasible option? I have a couple of weekend free with me. Would it be good if I split the trip over 1 or 2 weekends? I am open for any suggestions. I like nature a lot and would like to visit places with lush greenary, cool and calm. Something like a good ride through a national park or by the sea side.

Spaleo,

Are you based in Dublin? Any chance of flying into Kerry Airport and renting a car there? That would cut down on driving times.

It will take you about 7 or 8 hours to drive from Dublin to Dingle. Then you would need another day to see the Dingle Peninsula. The ROK takes a good portion of a day to see. So that would be a day driving to the SW, a day for Dingle and a day for the ROK. Then a day driving back to Dublin.

Have you seen things closer to Dublin? There are some nice, cool, calm, green things closer too.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. It would really help me to plan my travel. I am in dublin for 2 months. But will be free only on weekends. I have been to wicklow, cliffs of moher and visited all the places that are covered by the hop-on and off bus. I would like to go to a good beach or place full of nature over the weekend. Can you please suggest something to strech out and relax, enjoy the breeze and nature. It would also like to spend the saturday night at that place.

Spaleo,

Consider going north too. You can be there in just 2 hours. Northern Ireland is very beautiful. The Antrim coast is especially scenic and tranquil with lots of beaches.
