Lodging for 5 in Dublin City Centre?

Due to my dragging my feet on reserving an apartment with StayDublin.com, the special they were running (3rd night free) has gone away.  I was dragging my feet over some concerns I had with their accomodation so perhaps this is best (was $80 a night for 5 of us though- sob).

Does anyone have suggestions for an alternative reasonably close to the City Centre?  I have a party of 5 so most hotels will likely have an issue with all of us in 1 room (which I'd like to accomplish if possible for cost reasons).  I have sent enquires to Jury's Inn and the D4 hotels to see what they'll do but does anyone have other thoughts?

Thanks
Zstep

Thats who the deal was through.  I have some mixed feelings about them.  The reviews I've seen are fairly consistent: extremely limited hot water, possibility of being shifted to a less desirable staydublin property, single key (200E charge for a lost key as well), additional 250E security deposit, post trip charges for extra towels, cleaning and "excessive energy use".  If everything goes well, it would be a fantastic value but there appeared to be a lot of chances to go wrong, thus my hesitancy.

I'm still looking.  Amberley House is a possibility as are some of the hotels I mentioned (but would require 2 rooms).  I'll probably wait this out a bit and see if room costs fall any further.

Is the Lower Gardiner area ok?  Seems like there are a lot of guest houses in this area (Lower Gardiner and Talbot Streets just north of the river and east of O'Connell).

Zstep,

Gardiner is not Dublin's best area. But it is okay, especially since 5 of you are together. If you want the best area then go for Dublin 2. But be prepared to pay for it.
