We think we have June, 2010 10 day Itinerary Set!

After some great advice here and on other forums, we think we have our 10 day itinerary nailed down.  We have even made the majority of our B&B reservations.   Things are finally coming together!!   

Please share any additional advice / information you might have based on all of this.

6/14 fly in to Shannon @ 7am. See Bunratty Castle then to Galway for the night.
6/15 see Connemara area and stay in Galway again.
6/16 see Inismor (Aran Islands) then to Doolin for the night
6/17 see Doolin, Cliffs of Moher, Burren on the way to Dingle for night.
6/18 tour Dingle - Sleahead Drive. Stay in Dingle again.
6/19 leave Dingle - drive to Killarney - see Muckross House and Killarney Nat'l Park. Stay in Kenmare.
6/20 leave Kenmare and drive south to Bantry (our great grandparents came from this area). On to Kinsale for the night.
6/21 Kinsale to Kilkenny.... the route and stops are TBD
6/22 leave Kilkenny...drive thru Wicklow Mtns to Dublin. Stay in Dublin
6/23 see Dublin...probably will do Hop On/Off bus tour.
6/24 back home to Denver :(


B&B's that are booked
  • Galway - 2 nights - Abbey Lee
  • Doolin - 1 night - Emohruo
  • Dingle - 2 nights - Ballinvounig House
  • Kenmare - 1 night - Rockcrest House
  • Kinsale - 1 night - Rivermount House
  • Kilkenny - 1 night - TBD
  • Dublin - 2 nights - TBD

Like I said, almost the same as mine!

6/14 Fly out of Houston
6/15 Arrive Dublin, stay in Trim (Newgrange, Trim Castle)
6/16 Drive to Ballyvaughan, stop at Clonmacnoise
6/17 Cliffs of Moher, drive to Castlegregory, Dingle Peninsula
6/18 Slea Head Drive, back to Castlegregory
6/19 Killarney, Gap of Dunloe, Muckross, Ross Castle
6/20 Drive to Kilkenny (Cahir Castle, Rock of Cashel on the way)
6/21 Kilkenny extravaganza (haven't decided yet!)
6/22 Drive through Wicklow mountains to Dublin
6/22-25 Dublin
6/25 Back to Houston/Austin

B&B's
6/15 Trim- Crannmor House
6/16 Ballyvaughan- Cappabhaile House
6/17-18- Castlegregory- The Shores
6/19- Killarney- Crystal Springs
6/20-21 Kilkenny- Pinecrest House
6/22-25- Dublin- TBD  I'm leaning towards the Grafton Capital Hotel but am far from settled on it.

Looks good. I'm glad you took a few of my suggestions. It will make for a better trip. You will love Rivermount House in Kinsale. Tell Claire hello from me. When in Bantry you might want to tour Bantry House and Gardens. If the weather is nice be sure to go up the stairs in the garden for fantastic views.

You are going to love The Shores. Annette makes the most fantastic gourmet breakfasts. Now I'm getting hungry.
