Casual fishing in Ireland

Michele, on another thread you commented about fishing in Ireland. I think this might be something I'd like to offer as an outing for my husband.

We will be in Ireland this September, 3 nights in Westport, 2 nights in Dingle, 4 nights in Kemare, areas that might give the most opportunity to fish. Do you have any suggestions of websites or places I should contact?

Ron would have to be fully kitted out if he does want to fish so that would have to be available to him. Maybe if I can offer him a wonderful fishing experience, I'll be able to talk him into the pony trekking outing I would like wink

Thanks for any suggestions, Deborah

Deborah,

You need to look for a fishing guide called a ghillie in Ireland. They will take care of everything including the boat (if needed), fishing license and kit. Since they know exactly what they are doing it is best to hire one for either a few hours, half day or full day, depending on what your husband wants.
