Thanks for the link. I was reading about it. Although my Irish ancenstry is so diluted it is going to be hard to prove it.

I saw that - and was also wondering how far back they would consider Irish ancestry. Mine's from the 17th century!!!

I'm lucky. My grandmother was born in Ireland.

It will be interesting to see, if they implement this plan, what they will accept for the discount.

My grandmother was also born in Ireland...I'm going to work on getting an Irish passport...think that would be really nice to possess...

Maggie,

I have Irish citizenship through my grandmother and an Irish passport.

You need to get the citizenship first. Its pretty easy as long as you have the proper records. Once you get that, its as easy as paying a fee and taking a picture to get the passport. If I remember correctly the entire process took about 6 months.
