We spent a morning chasing down the Abbey but could find no way to access it and the bull in field didn't look too friendly.
I will have my trip report started soon. Life issues getting in the way...finally over the cough crud I brought back with me....and the Friday came and my son was in an accident with my truck...Son is okay...fingers crossed...they think the truck is repairable.
We were just there at Connor Pass two weeks ago. That car park at the top of Connor Pass has what looks like a very strong stone fence, I don't know how a car could go through that. Let us know if you hear more details.
Just this morning I was reading in a Kerry newspaper that a visitor was dramatically airlifted from a beach in Ballybunion at the weekend after surviving a 100 foot fall from a clifftop. www.kerryman.ie
Got to watch those Irish cliffs. Soon they will fence all of them in like the Cliffs of Moher.
Dingle Gardaí are not treating the death of a man on the Conor Pass as suspicious
Dingle Gardaí are not treating the death of a man on the Conor Pass as suspicious. The man's body was discovered close to a car 600 feet below the car park at the mountain pass.
The body was found by members of Dingle Sea and Cliff Rescue at approximately 20 past eight this morning. The Coast Guard helicopter has removed the body from the scene to Kerry General Hospital for a post mortem.
A mans body has been recovered from deep in the Conor Pass near Dingle, Co Kerry, after a passerby noted the wall of the mountain pass car park at the summit had been broken and spotted a car 300m down the hillside.
Dingle Sea and Cliff Rescue sent down a team and found the body beside the car.
The body was removed by the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter. A postmortem is being carried out at Kerry General Hospital.

The one side of the parking lot doesn't have the rock wall. Here is a pic's. It is also very foggy up there at times.

The fence you showed in the 8:24 photo is behind the stone wall at the car park where it drops down (see the youtube video). It will show the fence behind the stone wall. The news reports stated that the wall was broken.
Think she has wandered on from Galway now, bit of light damage, we had no electric for 3 hours this morning and the N59 to Clifden is closed because of trees fallen across the road.

Glad you are not gone with the wind! I see that another hurricane is following the same path. I hope it does not impact your time with your visitors. Stay safe.
My niece was on Long Island for the summer. She got to experience an earthquake and a hurricane while here. Now she has started university in Galway and gets to experience more! I told her she will be quite the expert soon.
I hope she is found and okay. At least the place she was staying alerted the authorities she was missing. It is always a good practice to let people know where you are going, especially if hiking in such areas. The cliffs and weather can impact any hike.
There was a tragic event earlier this year. An American woman was killed on Inch Strand when a van backed up and ran over her. Things like that do happen and they are tragic.
Think it is still in development. I heard about its launch just about Christmas time and have been looking for it ever since, lots of the links don't work but at least the prices and offers are up to date
