Hi, my niece is doing a semester at University of Limerick this fall. I'm planning on taking my sons (20 and 18) for a week over Thanksgving break. Any suggestions on what to not miss or not both with since we will only be there a week. Ideas for Day trips or even an over-nighter would be welcome. Thanks for any suggestions.
Welcome to my forum. It sounds like a fun trip. Just keep in mind that days are short in November so plan your day trips from Limerick accordingly. Some places that might appeal:
Cliffs of Moher Burren Aillwee Cave & Birds of Prey Center Rock of Cashel Cahir Castle Bunratty Castle and Folk Park King John's Castle (Limerick)
I suggest visiting the local tourist office for info, maps, brochures and possible discount coupons on arrival.
I agree -- you would do well to get out of Limerick quickly and see other things in the West, such as the Dingle Peninsula or West Cork. Limerick is not that appealing a location for a vacation stay in my opinion.
So many better places to be. Explore and have fun!
