Irish Festivals 2010


I thought we might like a topic listing upcoming festivals in Ireland. It will help to plan your trip as you might want to attend one. It is also important to book accommodations in advance for many of the festivals. Feel free to add any festivals you want to the list.

July 3 - 10 Cairde Summer Arts Festival: Sligo, Co. Sligo. Theater, music, caberet, comedy, dance, children's events, street performances.

July 10 & 11 Galway Garden Festival: Claregalway, Co. Galway at Claregalway Castle. Admission 5 euro (all profits go to charity).

July 13 & Every Tuesday throughout the year Tales of Medieval Dublin Lunchtime Talks: Wood Quay, Dublin City. Time: 1.05pm until 1.45pm. Learn about life in Ireland from Viking times to the 14th century. Admission FREE. 

July 15 - 18 Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan: Kenmare, Co. Kerry. Music, song, dance, set and céilí dancing, outdoor and indoor concerts, workshops, competitions and street sessions.

July 18 - 25
Fiddler's Green Festival: Rostrevor, Co. Down. 200 events for music fanatics and families who wish to enjoy a safe, child focused festival. Free outdoor ceilis, open air stage, art exhibitions, children's entertainment and a literary pub crawl

July 23 - 25 Dún Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures: Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. Featuring over 800 artists from 33 countries in 180 events. Music, art, film, carnival, etc. 

July 30 - Aug 2 O’Carolan Harp & Traditional Music Festival: Keadue, Co. Roscommon. Harp Workshop & competitions, set dancing, ceili dancing, traditional music & song. 

July 30 - Aug 1 Ballyshannon Folk Festival: Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal.
Street entertainment, pub music, workshops,story telling, market, free open air concerts. 

July 31 - Aug 8 The World Fleadh: Castlebar, Co. Mayo. Celtic music festival with top Irish traditional, folk Celtic & country music acts alongside quality special guest acts from other musical genres.

Aug 4 - 10 Feakle Traditional Music Festival: Feakle, Co. Clare. Traditional music, song, and dance, youth concert, workshops, poetry, puppet shows.

Aug 27 - 29 Coleman Traditional Festival 2010: Coleman Irish Music Centre, Gurteen, Co. Sligo. Traditional music, concerts, sessions, ceili and fiddle competition. 

Aug 16 - 22 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann (Festival of Music in Ireland): Cavan, Co. Cavan. Traditional music competition, concerts, céilithe, parades, pageants, and street sessions.
