Ireland in January?????

I'm planning a trip from January 14th - 21st.  I have heard most of Cork shuts down durring the off season is this true?? I would like to spend a day or two in the parks. Will this be possible and will there be restrictions on any of the tours such as the Blarney Castle???

Opening hours might be reduced but Blarney Castle is open all year and is easily accessible on public transport rather than paying for a tour. tickets can be bought on line for the Castle and grounds, the house is also open now but costs extra.

Meri,

Welcome to my forum. As Tony has said, there will be no problem seeing Blarney Castle. Certain sightseeing attractions are closed in off-season but Cork City is by no means closed. You should have plenty to hold your interest there. Is there any other place in particular that you are interested in seeing?
