Stephanie,

I have walked around the Burren on my own but have not done the guided tour. I know people who have done it and loved it. I suppose it depends on who your guide is.

I am not able to do this type of thing any more but living fairly locally (within 50 miles, local for rural Ireland) and in a walkers area on the Slieve Aughty, Shane Connolly from the Ballyvaughan based Burren Hill walks is highly respected and gets good reviews.

The Burren Peaks walking Festival is on 25th-27th Sept. and there are regular walks throughout the summer taking just a couple of hours with Heart of Burren Walks from two centres.

No problem Cark219.  If you fancy a woodland/park walk then you might want to check out Coole park just Northwest of Gort on the Northeastern edge or the Burren area.

Across here on the Slive Aughty we have some rarely exported scenic walks and rides.
