Maureen O'Hara is quite a lady. Many years ago I bought a booklet about the making of the Quiet Man from the guy that used to have the shop inside Cohan's in Cong. I left the booklet with Mary Browne at Bunratty Lodge where Ms. O'Hara often stayed. The next time she was there she was not only kind enough to autograph the booklet, but she read through the whole thing and made corrections in the margins. Evidently the author had several mistakes!
I think that is a very nice keepsake from Maureen O'Hara. Wishing her the best for her 90th!
I just watched the program. It was great. I encourage everyone to view the show before it disappears. Maureen O'Hara is still beautiful and a class act at 90.
There is going to be a Maureen O'Hara Legacy Center built in Glengarriff with an opening date projected to be 2012. She also has close associations with the Foynes Flying Boat Museum where many of her late husband Charles Blair's mementos are on display.
I watched part of The Quiet Man the other night as AMC was running O'Hara movies all day. It is a classic. Sort of like The Taming of the Shrew Irish style.
