I'm flying into Shannon on September 12 and will most likely rent from Dooley. I've been checking back to the website periodically because I've noticed the rental costs rising (and even falling a little) almost daily. Can anyone tell me why that is? More to the point, is it likely that the price will dip by the end of August?
Second question: we'll be dropping the car off at Dublin Centre on 23Sept and having a van and driver take us back to Shannon on 26Sept. We'll be staying in Dublin, near Christchurch Cathedral. Is the Dublin Centre drop-off the most convenient to that location?
Thanks in advance.

I have been checking the Dooley website www.dandooley.com daily. The first quote was in the thousands of dollars. It seems to go down daily. What I do is get a quote and then save that quote. It is emailed to you and is good for 7 days. I get a quote every day. I figure if the price starts going up dramatically, I will use one of the other quotes for booking. There is no rhyme or reason to rate fluctuations. It happens.
I think that the city center Dooley depot has closed. You should check on that by calling their toll-free number to confirm.
I've been saving price quotes, too. I've seen at least one price for the same vehicle and the same length of time for more than $1,000! I'll play "wait and see" for another week or so, saving the prices to prevent getting stuck with a four figure monster. But I don't want to put it off too long. We're flying out of Dulles on September 11th, and the date is fast approaching.
Thanks for the info about Dooley's City Center depot. I'll check the toll free number during the week and I'll let you know what they tell me.
We're excited about the trip and can hardly believe it's just a month away!

Just logged into Dooley today for a price on a 28 day rental. It has gone from over $2,000 down to $458. The longer I wait the lower it is going. If you input the code dochara you can get a 10% discount.
