I will admit the slow driving times in Ireland have given me a "fit" trying to plan some of my routes. Thanks for the help deciding in a previous thread about whether or not to take the ferry.
We will take the ferry and now I wonder if we can include a drive out to Loop Head with a short stop as a detour before the ferry. If the weather is nice we would also like to include the drive through Connor Pass to Dingle. I don't know if this is too much in one day or if we can manage the drive with an early start--but how early??
We told each of our B&B's that we would be arriving no later than 6 pm. Will this make for a reasonable drive or will my husband be one exhausted driver, something I'm trying to avoid since it's his vacation also
If you can leave your lodgings by 9 to 9:30 am and the weather is good you can do Loop Head. It will add to your mileage on that day but you can break it up by stopping along the way and with the ferry ride.
If the day is balmy I can think of nothing better than having a picnic lunch at Loop Head. Sit on the grassy headland with the ocean, lighthouse and birds. You will hate to leave it.
I'm sure you can make it to Dingle by 6 but if you find you are running late just call your B&B to let then know.
