good friday concerns

Hi Michele
We plan to leave from Shannon on Friday (Good Friday) March 29 at 2Pm.
Do you see any issues we should know about such as places closed on Friday. Due to our itinerary, we haven't reserved anything for Thurs. nite yet. Just kinda winging it. However, I have been eyeing the Bunratty Castle Hotel with Kathy's restaurant.
Your comments are always welcome.

Re: good friday concerns

Hi Gary,

Make your reservations now for Bunratty Castle Hotel and Kathleen's. Do not wing your last night in Ireland! The long holiday weekend (Fri-Mon) books up fast with the Irish themselves taking advantage of time off. I also suggest filling up your rental car with petrol the night before you go to the airport. On Good Friday most things are closed including pubs, restaurants, shops, etc. But since you are leaving on that day you will only be concerned with the airport area and that is open. Check with your airline as to how far ahead to check in (2-3 hours) possibly.

Hope your trip goes well.

Michele

reservations

Thanks for the advise. We have booked the Bunratty Lodge with Mary Brown for the nite before liftoff from Shannon. We also sent her your (Michele the expert) regards.
PS. The Q/A part of your site made me think about it. Just thought I'd let you know.

regards
mary and gary

Re: Reservations

Hi Gary & Mary,

Happy to hear you have your reservations for Bunratty Lodge. It's a very popular place and I'm glad you got in. Mary Browne will take good care of you.

Michele
