Well the trip is nearing and I am thinking of more and more questions.
I am worried (probably because I am a New Yorker) about leaving all my things in the car while I am off visiting a sight or having lunch while on the way to my next destination. An example is: we will be driving from Dublin to Kinsale but will be stopping in Cashel on the way. And there will probably be at least 5 or 6 other times in my trip that this will happen. Common sense says not to leave anything in the car ever but... Now, I will most likely not be bringing my best jewelry and my camera will be with me at all times, but I still feel uncomfortable leaving everything else that I have brought with me to Ireland in the car. Can anyone reassure me about this situation?
Thanks,
Cathy

Luggage in Trunks Hi:
See page 13 to see comments on this subject. I had posted the same concerns and Michele and others reassured me that it should be fine as long as everything is kept out of sight and locked up.

Luggage Thanks Therese, I just checked out page 13. I'm feeling better about it now. However, now I have the problem of having to fit all of our stuff in one little trunk. : ^)

Valuables safely in the car We just returned from twenty five days in Ireland. Of the trips we've taken we felt the safest in Ireland. We actually did leave the car (with all our stuff locked inside) in the Cashel parking lot as well as many others. We kept everything out of sight. We also took all passports, credit/debit cards and ID on our person. With those precautions we felt pretty certain that everything would be OK, and it was.
I'm recently back from my 37th trip and never had a problem leaving things in the car. Therese did a good job tracking down that old posting on the same subject. Yes, fitting everything in the trunk (or boot as they say in Ireland) can be a challenge. You can also put things underneath the seats but don't forget to take them with you when you return the car. If you pack light then you can buy more!
George, We would love hearing about your 25 days in Ireland.

Re: Leaving Valuables in the Car I left my car for a week in Banagher with the goodies stashed in the boot. All was intact when I returned.
