Irish Ceili in the Bunratty Barn

Does anyone know when the Irish Ceili in the Bunratty Barn ends for the season? Are they still doing it in October?

Re: Irish Ceili in the Bunratty Barn

according to their website : www.shannonheritage.com/Traditional.htm

they do it nightly from April - October.
you can email them for availability for a given night.

If you click on Evening Entertainment, you will also see info on the Medieval banquets, too.

plane info

Would it be redundant to do the traditional night and the medevil banquet?
It looks like such a bit piece of Irish heritage is shown in both but i don't want to waste my time and money. We are not much for drinking and everything seems to shut down early there. I'm not saying however we won't go to pubs - just something a little different would be good too.

Re: plane info

I personally would do one or the other. Just depends on which type of entertainment you prefer.

I mentioned the Banquet in my above post, because in all your other posts you have referred to the Banquet, and I wanted you to know that all the information for both was on the same website.

Re: Irish Ceili in the Bunratty Barn

Hi stannseniors,

The Bunratty Medieval Banquet and the Ceili are quite different. The banquet is held in Bunratty Castle and is a bit more formal with a skit put on by the players and wonderful music and singing. The ceili is more informal. You sit at long farm tables covered in oilcloth and there is lots of good music and dance. The ceili is more subject to availability i.e. if not a lot of people book it they may close earlier than their web site says. So it is best to inquire in advance. If you are budgeting, I would suggest choosing only one. You can look at my dining page. My book describes both. Email: reservations@shannon-dev.ie
