PAI Michele:
I've never used Budget before, but they have the best price in November. They have an exclusion called PAI (Personal Accident Insurance). What exactly is that?
It's great to hear you are off to Ireland again in November. I've used Budget frequently and have been happy with them.
Personal Accident Insurance provides coverage to you and your passengers for medical/ambulance bills. This type of insurance is unnecessary if you are covered by health insurance.
Basically, it is just another "add on" that the car rental companies would love for you to purchase.

car rental have you tried Dan Dooley's? we booked through the New Jersey Office - they were recommended by a person who still has a home over there and commutes from US a few times a year. We used our plantinum Master card and had no trouble - it only cost us 240 for 8 days for a Ford Focus. Although i guess they all catch you for a fifty dollar fill up. Next time we'll fill up ourselves.

Re: PAI Thanks folks. I figured that was what PAI was. So far they have the best price thatI have found.
I checked Dan Dooley and they are more expensive. I ran through the usual suspects: Dooley, Budget, O'Scannlain (Hertz), Argus, Autoeurope, Europcar and Kemwel and this time Budget was the least. It just varies. Fortunately, I discovered that driving a manual was no problem, so there is a big savings there for me.
Sorry for my absense for the past 6 weeks or so Michele. I had some surgeries that kept me out of work for a while, but I'm about 80% now and looking forward to some fun. So I get 5 weeks off of work, come back for three and then go on vacation. They love me for that.
I'm so sorry to hear that you have been ill. If I had known I would have sent you an electronic get well card. I hope you are feeling much better and will soon be back to your old self. I just thought you were busy with your music gigs and things like that.
A big GET WELL SOON from me!

Re: On the Mend Michele:
Thanks for the kind words. I don't recommend my technique for getting time off work. I wish i could have been playing some music.
