Tons of B&Bs!

Hello Oliver,

It looks like you want to choose B&Bs for several different areas in Ireland. Basically, you have listed every B&B from the Town and Country Book in each area you are interested in. It would definitely take many weeks and/or months to critique such a listing. Instead I will tell you the ones from your list that I would recommend.

BUNRATTY:

Headley Court
Bunratty Lodge

KENMARE:

Willow Lodge
Mylestone House

DOOLIN:

Nellie Dee's

CASHEL:

Rockside House B&B

I have some recommendations in Glendalough and Malahide but they are not on your list. If you are open to recommendations from other sources such as guesthouses, farmhouses, other publications, etc. let me know and I can recommend those.

You might also benefit from my book Best Little Guide to Ireland, which describes very nice B&Bs and guesthouses in detail: www.irelandyes.com/book.html

If I can help in any other way with your trip, please post again.

Michele

B&Bs

we just stayed at Bunratty Lodge - Very nice, clean, comfortable, good food and Mary is a sweetheart.

Seaview House in Doolin is one of the nicest places we stayed - it had the most incredible view and just a 1 minute walk into the town (only about 8 buildings). The owners were a young couple - very nice.

Re: B&Bs

The Harbour View in Kenmare is nice with a wonderful view, but you need to drive into town from there. I would stay there again because I always take view over convenience. The Seaview House in Doolin gets great reviews but I've never gotten in there because they book up quickly.

The Glendalough River House is easily the worst B&B that I ever stayed in, and the most expensive. Bad service, the rooms, especially the beds, are uncomfortable, the view is nice, but don't be fooled by the picture, it's attached to a woolen mill store that the owners also run. The owners are New Yorkers (or at least she is) and she must concentrate her service on the store, because she was put out when I called for directions from just up the road.

Hope this helps.

B&Bs

Just outside Clonmel, and near to Cashel is a wonderful place to stay called Farrenwick House.

The Fahey's are amazing!! they are unbelievealby warm and friendly. We had a great time there.
We stayed with them when we went to the Fleadh in Conmel this August. They are on the Cashel road

You will be happy if you stay here!

Hi Pat,

Thanks for the Farrenwick recommendation. It looks very nice and having a personal recommendation is great!
