Dublin Places to stay and eat

Hi Michele,
Just purchased your book, to help me prepare for my June trip. I will end up in Dublin for three days without transportation. All the B&Bs you recommended in your book seem to be well out of center city. Do you have something to recommend closer in?
I also notice you have no dining recommendations in Dublin, is food that bad there?
Thanks for your excellent book.

Dublin

Hi Bob,

Thanks for buying my book. I hope it is helping with your trip. Yes, I will be happy to recommend some hotels and guesthouses for you. As you will learn lodgings in Dublin are the most expensive in Ireland. The ones that are farther out tend to cost less. It is the capital city where everyone wants to be so you can understand that.

Here are some hotel and guesthouse recommendations:

Alexander, Davenport or Mont Clare: www.ocallaghanhotels.ie

Brooks Hotel: www.sinnotthotels.com

Brownes Townhouse: www.brownesdublin.com

Fitzwilliam Hotel: www.fitzwilliamh.com/fitzw/welcome.htm

Glenogra: www.glenogra.com/

Harrington Hall: www.harringtonhall.com

Jurys Christchurch Inn: www.jurys.com

Mercer Hotel: www.mercerhotel.ie

Merrion Hotel: www.merrionhotel.com

Stauntons on the Green: indigo.ie/~hotels/staunt.htm

Trinity Lodge Guesthouse: www.irelandhotels.com/Pre...g00174.asp
Westbury: www.jurys.com

Westin Dublin Hotel: www.westin.com

There is excellent food in Dublin but be prepared to pay the price. Here are some good restaurants:

Browne’s Brasserie
The Bistro
Bellissimo
Chapter One Restaurant
Dobbins Wine Bistro
Fado
Fitzers
Gallagher's Boxty House
Il Primo Ristorante
Jacob’s Ladder
Pasta Fresca
Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud
Roley's Bistro
Shanahan's On The Green
Trentuno

Enjoy!

Michele
