1st trip to Ireland

Hi!
I've become addicted to reading all the great comments on the forum. we are going to Ireland June 11 and spending two weeks. We would like to do B&B's, spending a couple of nights at each instead of trying to pack up everyday. I have 3 kids ages 7,9,and 12. Anyone know of some good family friendly B&B,s? I have e-mailed Bunratty house to Mrs. Browne and I'm just waiting to hear back. We would also like to spend some time in Kilkenny taking day trips and then Killarney, up through Galway, into Donegal and then to the giant's causeway, back to Dublin and fly home. Is this doable? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mary
Michelle, I need to buy the 2004 edition, when does it come out ?

Re: 1st trip to Ireland

Hi maryo100,

I am delighted that you are enjoying my forum. There is certainly plenty to read, especially if you also go to the Q&A Archive. My 2004 book will be out in March. If you want to be notified as soon as it becomes available, just email me from my contact page: www.irelandyes.com/contact.html

Mary Browne at Bunratty Lodge has a family room with a queen bed and two double beds that would probably fit the whole family and it has two bathrooms in it! Be patient awaiting a reply as she is on vacation right now.

Why don't you post a day-by-day proposed itinerary here and we will all be happy to help and comment on it? Have you received a free travel kit yet from Tourism Ireland? If not call 1-800-223-6470 and order it now.

Michele

P.S. You might want to continue posting under this same subject instead of a new one each time. It will make answering a little easier.

Re: 1st trip to Ireland

Hi maryrn,

You are very welcome. When you plan your itinerary if you can list one day at a time it always helps. Like this:

June 1: Dublin
June 2: Wicklow

Then we can give better answers.

Michele

day trip from Kilkenny

i can say we went to Jerpoint Abbey and it was really great-it's just a short distance from Kilkenny.
