April trip

Michele, I've been gathering all my info and making reservations and I think I'm done with the planning stages.

How close to departure should I reconfirm my reservations? I have most confirmations on e-mail but 1 was via telephone.


Also I've left one night with out reservations. It is when we leave doolin and head towards Tralee. I thought of stopping in Ballybunion, but since your newsletter I think we want to explore loop head and I'm not sure how far we will get.

With a family will I have problems finding a place? It will be on a Thursday.

Hi Mbarnes,

I'm glad to hear that all the planning is done. I'm sure that it will pay off with an excellent trip to Ireland. If you have your printed email confirmations, those should suffice. However, if you are the type that likes a reconfirmation then do so a few days before departure, giving time for a reply. If the reservation that you made by phone is not your first night's stay, you can call to reconfirm when you get to Ireland.

For a Thursday in April I think you will be fine winging it for a night. Start looking for a place to stay around 3pm.

Thanks for your reply. Also should I wait until I arrive to Book the Ceili at Bunratty? I saw on there web page that they only have it if there are enough people. This was to be our last night in Ireland and I wanted to do the Ceili or the Feast.

Bunratty banquet

Michele, I cant possible thank you enough. I called Bunratty today and sure enough the Ceili was not scheduled for wed or thurs, at least on the week we were going and the later feast was sold out. We are reserved for the earlier feast. Thank you! Thank you!
